Sunday was a wet, cold, dreary day. Coming home from errands often means a drive by the nearby lake. It’s one of my favorite places in this city. Everything was hazy around the lake that day and the birds were buzzing about overhead near the spillway. Since I’m currently doing a photo/gratitude journal, I decided to bundle up and go take some pictures so I’d have my daily shot. I didn’t go far past the spillway. I took a few shots, not really satisfied with what I may have gotten, but went on anyway. On my way back, I noticed this beautiful tree with its white, wintery branches. What a beauty! Just more proof that if you’re looking for beauty, you’ll find it…lots of it! I labeled it with an outSHINE frame because it was sitting amongst the wintery landscape of the dreary day, yet really stood out and caught my eye. I think I got a few decent shots that day … especially when I got home and found not one, but two shots of the birds who looked right at me. Wow!
