In honor of a shared experience

Next weekend will mark another celebration of a time in my life that is precious and extremely unforgettable. It has become ingrained in the very cells of my body and the energy deep in my heart. The gathering of people at this upcoming event and the stories behind it make for an interesting phenomenon, and unless you were among the many who were there, it seems downright odd. It is the shared experience that came out of an otherworldly nightclub in Dallas during the 80’s called the Starck Club.

You could call it a secret club or even an alma matter of sorts, but I call it one of my “families.” I’m lucky to have so many “families” … and I’m partial to this one because of the lessons learned, the friends made, and the music that will always take me back, no matter my age. Next weekend, I look forward to seeing old faces and hearing the music that will transport us all to a time that has since been unmatched.  To all the Starckers attending, see you there … “looking from a hilltop!”

Here’s an interesting piece on why we crave shared experiences: https://medium.com/@bobhoranjr/why-we-crave-shared-experiences-5443afba6405
